Thirteen years ago, a diagnosis of fibromyalgia turned my world upside down. The relentless cycle of chronic fatigue, pain, and the resulting depression left me feeling trapped and hopeless. Simple tasks became insurmountable challenges, and the inability to plan even the smallest outing filled me with frustration.
Traditional medicine offered little solace. My GP’s prescriptions only masked the symptoms, doing nothing to address the root cause of my suffering. I knew I had to take matters into my own hands.
Driven by desperation, I embarked on a quest for healing. I explored various alternative therapies, from elimination diets to bio-energy healing, Reiki, massages, and even a meteor-infused belt with outrageous claims! While some provided temporary relief, none offered a lasting solution.
Then, I stumbled upon hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Despite my GP’s dismissive advice years earlier, I decided to give it a try. It was a significant commitment, both financially and logistically, requiring a three-hour round trip for each session.
The initial few months were intense, with frequent sessions aimed at breaking the cycle that had held me captive for so long. It took around 30 sessions before I truly felt like I was reclaiming my life. The fatigue, the primary obstacle, began to fade, and gradually, other symptoms followed suit.
HBOT wasn’t a magic bullet. I continued to support my health with vitamin and mineral supplements and made further dietary adjustments. I discovered that carbohydrates, particularly those derived from seed crops, triggered physical pain.By adopting a diet primarily focused on animal products, I found relief from digestive issues, another common symptom of fibromyalgia.
Through my journey, I’ve come to understand that fibromyalgia is merely a label for a collection of symptoms often associated with Post Viral Syndrome.
Each person’s experience is unique, and finding what works best for your body is crucial. While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, prioritizing natural, unprocessed foods is a good starting point.
Today, I can proudly say that I’m functioning “normally.” It was a long and arduous journey, but I finally found my way back to health. And the catalyst for this transformation was undoubtedly HBOT.
